Description
A Sherlock BBC papercutting featuring Sherlock Holmes and John Watson in front of their flat. It's a bit rough; if I were making a proper project of this I'd call this a draft and do another version with cleaner cuts. But for an experiment I think it came out pretty well.
Done with craft knife on regular letter-size paper.
Edit: Wow, a DD! Thank you to =xthumbtakx and ^FrockTarts , and to everyone for the lovely comments and favs! This paper experiment was the one that led to many more, so I'm thrilled that people like it so much.

Uwah! That's brilliant! The title makes me want to go re-watch A Study in Pink again, too... XD If I tried something like that, it would either not look like them at all, or be so messed up there was no point in trying in the first place. Amazing work!

Thanks very much! Well, I had no idea this would start me on an entire series of 3D papercuttings when I'd never done any before, so you never know

Thanks very much! I sketched everything lightly before I cut it, but the scarf was done freehand and I'm really happy with it.

Oh man this is great-- especially how the paper turns up at the bits where the actual coats and such would.

Thank you, I had the idea for the lapels and that's what motivated me to try this papercutting!

Thank you! They do take quite a while, especially the 3D paper sculptures, which are cut from a single piece of paper so I have to make very sure I don't make any mistakes

Yeah, I can see why that would be important.
Like a lot of others, I do like Sherlock's scarf quite a bit.

This is so amazing. I like Sherlock's scarf's fringe detail! And I especially like the way you got the jacket lapels to cast shadows.

Thank you! The lapels was one of the things I was experimenting with. I really liked how they came out, so all my knife-cut paper art since then have incorporated some 3D.
