Description
Minerva Scenic has a nice mix of motive power in it's small fleet. Here one of the E-untis waits to take some passangers on a fall excursion while a GP9 (in Penn Central colors!) sits waiting for another assignment. This scene almost looks as if it were on a model railroad. Well that is just my opinion anywayOr it could be about 30+ years in the past. With some imagination, that the PC geep waiting for a C&O E-unit with its passanger train in tow to clear the mainline so it can continue switching.

Good shot. What is making the shadow? Too bad it is there. I do understand that you sometimes have to take what you can get.

Thanks!
It's a brick building just out of frame. I think if I would have gotten there with the sun at a different angle the shot would have come out better.
But like you said it's one of those take what you can get deals.

Penn Central, preserved? Odd, but I'm glad to see it. It's just that most railroaders would like to forget PC.
No usual NS DASH 9's or UP SD70Ms, but I don't know... sometimes I feel like photographing museum or tourist pike equipment is like fishing in a barrel. Not that it is not fun, just that is seems to lack the punch of a real train chase. I guess the key is to do like you and pretend you are back in time. (Whitewater Valley RR's Milwaukee Road SD8 makes me think of a lonely Iowa branch line, and their NYC Alco is right at home on former Big 4 tracks.)
The framing here is nice, by the way.

I couldn't believe it when I saw it. I have seen PC locos before, but never one with the "friendly worm" scheme. I did have a chance to chase the E-unit, but when I caught up with it, my camera batteries were dead.

Even stranger to see the red-P version. Overall definitely not an era worth celebrating.

I need to do a little reasearch on this one. I am not sure it was presereved liek that or if a museum repaint one to look like a PC Geep.

Heckuva shot.
Nice work getting the old-school diesel in there with the newer hi-nose GP.

I like these old GP units more than the modern ones. Don't know why....

They are just classics. Like say the old Charger over the new one.
