Reminds me a bit of an old Stephen King novel I read once..had a train in it...the Gunslinger series...Love the perspective, the paint on it still looks good.

hey holmes.. here's my final critique:
..I haven't much time.. so this will have to be pretty hastened.. okay.. go!
you'll find most established photographers share a degree in appreciation for what I sent you.. oh well!
why do photographers like you insist on dodging the surroundings of your key subject?
*doesn't understand *
the contrast is a little imbalanced.. I probably would have taken it from a different angle as well..
oh, and those copyright captions don't do you much good.. If you're paranoid about people stealing your work, they're not doing you much use - people could easily just crop that shit off..
if I were you i'd get a better font/change to opacity to something a little less distracting..
anyway, nice talkin.. ps: you know you got served in that "debate" *snickers*

Really?
It looks like HDR, especially at the edge of the train which is in shadow.
What is it then?

ldo In reply to Monastor [2007-03-29 09:25:06 +0000 UTC]
Just a normal exposure, that's how it came out. Only the front of the train had very slightly dodging done to bring it out a bit more.

So there was some post work
OK, that explains the effect.
It still looks pretty HDRish
Hence my mistake.
Well done anyway!

Pretty
The photo itself is good but the effects used make it special.
What exactly did you do with it?
Levels, saturation and some local brightening, I guess (however, my guesses concerning this picture tend to be incorrect )

I can't remember exactly. But some local contrast, warming filter & some dodging and burning was it.

You have got some real masterpieces in here I have started to go on long walks in some less populated areas trying to find a photographic treasure like this here. Looks like a really cool place, where is this?

Great lighting and perspective, and it really gives me a feeling of isolation and abandonment.
Great shot
