The first time I looked at this photo I was struck by something powerful.A powerful emotion which I am not sure how to define.I am sure that is how others felt as well.One can look at this photo for hours and interpret this photo in their own way.The pose and the lighting combine to form a rather surrealistic scenario and the fact that they are in such a position,hiding their faces,speaks volumes.When children feel scared or are crying they often go into this pose.For a grown man to go into this pose speaks of some terrible tragedy that has occurred with him or it speaks of the inner child inside all of us.The one who never got comforted when they cried and they still carry that hurt inside.This is a fantastic photo and I am aware of other suitable adjectives but all we need to do is gaze at the photo to understand its fantasticness.

This is one of those images I could see as a award-winning best seller. The simplicity of the image and power of the message, wonderful lighting and exposure, composition, and post processing, it's breathtaking at first sight.
If I could see one thing I'd change, it would be the disappearing heads -- dark hair against a dark background needs separate hair lights to provide definition and dimension, otherwise these poor boys look all but decapitated.
