I do so love when hard work finally pays off.

After much experimentation and frustration, I've completed yet another overdue birthday gift for / . I'm just not good with deadlines, am I?

So the idea behind this drawing/painting-or-what-have-you is Elmer (my character) has encountered an unfamiliar yet obviously very jovial creature (Tammy, TamarinFrog /Paper-Star-Zombie 's character) out in the jungle. Tammy's playful nature and agility amuse Elmer and they spend some time chasing each other and leaping from tree to tree. It seems even an accomplished acrobat like Elmer gets a little winded trying to keep up with an animal who's specifically adapted to life in the trees.

Never before have I tried so many new things while working on a single piece of art. That was my goal for this; to really push myself and venture out of my comfort zone. (I guess I focused so much on that goal that I neglected my secondary goal of getting it done within a reasonable amount of time. But hey, at least it wasn't as late as it was last time, amirite?)

Those few people out there who are familiar with Elmer may notice his attire's changed. Yep, I'm giving him a new look, so I'll probably make some alterations to this design. The colors clash a little less than before, don't they? Also, check out those fancy boots!
