Hoo! Finally got this done! Took me a few months, but I think it may have been worth it.

Now, where to begin... Something I really like about Pokemon games is gathering your little ragtag bunch of misfits and watching them grow stronger together. Even if it is just a bunch of pixels and data, there's something really heartwarming about seeing your team enter the Hall of Fame after spending so much time training and traveling with them. Know what I mean?

Well, that was part of the inspiration behind this drawing. I also wanted to show how Cinder, Briar, and Luthor have developed since they first met, and how their bond has changed over time. Hooray for character development!

So, the Verity Three, as I like to call them, all met in the wild near Lake Verity in Sinnoh. Cinder was lost, alone in the woods and without any memories. Desperate to find someone to be with, he saved Briar from an aggressive Starly flock. Briar didn't want to go back home, apparently due to some sort of traumatizing experience. They later met Luthor, who ran away from his pride (as in a group of lions, not his ego) after having a disagreement with the group leader. While they didn't all get along very well, they made a pact to all be caught together by the same trainer for their own reasons.

Over time, each of them changed not just in appearance, but in personality. Cinder now actually cares about his friends, instead of just wanting them around so he won't be lonely. Briar's probably changed the most, as she's become much more open and self-confident than she was as a Budew. Luthor... Well, Luthor's still kind of a dick, but at least he's more comfortable around Cinder and Briar. He's a bit like Falco Lombardi from Star Fox.

This sure took a while, since it's basically four big pictures in one! I'm glad I did it, though.

Looking forward to experiencing this feeling all over again with Sun and/or Moon!
