I hear ya, I'm just starting to be more involved on DA. Just make a bunch of journals with stuff like Tags and polls, and make a detailed bio and description of your personality on your profile page so people feel more personally connected to you. It also helps if you do commissions and stuff so many more people have found me and my work because in my signature I let people know I do commissions for free. Granted you don't need to do stuff for free, you can do a donation commission thing instead but y'know..

at least that's what I read somewhere...
