don't stare too intently, or the blatant mistakes will start to take precedence over whatever i did right with this one. thank you for your intelligent and thoughtful remarks, so much better than "kewl picture" or whatever drivel the kids are spitting on the net. i haven't been producing anything even close to finished for a couple months, but i feel a storm coming on. i'll try to make the watch worth your while. thanks again for the comments and the fave.

What did you use to do this thing? The paper, the utinsels.. I know it doesnt really make a difference now that it's done and it's a FINE piece and all.. I'm only being nosey, can't help that. YAY for genetics!

Thick drawing paper, 2 1/2 rollerball pens worth of inking. There is about five minutes of pencil sketch involved too. I plan to put a stop to the Allen gene pool...

oh man talk about details to teh masses. i love this picture. its going to be my first favorite. you are a very detailed person. signs of a very complex mind and sophisticated life. if i were to immagine such an image with allt aht detail in my ind. i would probably freeze then blue screen of death and then crash. haha

Thank you, but there is no coloring here. The sepia tint was applied to the scan, it's a pen and ink drawing.

Yeah, this picture took me a damn long time. I'm thinking of drawing more Lackbeard soon, all "Tales From The Black Freighter" style. He's gonna have a corsair the size of a small town, with cannons everywhere.

i think this picture is great... i could never draw like that i think.. because i have to "see" the picture i want to draw before i can do it... and i havent ever been able to imagine something so detailed and beautiful... you are really talented

Well, I hate dialup with every last inch of my soul but it was worth it to see this.
I myself love pirates, and this just kicks ass all over the house.

Oh wow. Maybe I should ease up on my dpi. I was uploading low mem images, and people were like, "I know there's crazy detail, I just can't see it!" So I changed my scans and reloaded things. Wasn't expecting anybody with dial up on a site that iis already this slow. Well, I'm glad you like it, and I'm sorry it is such a huge file...
