Description
While browsing the Forbiddon Planet in Birmingham with Alias Cosplay , she pointed out a book that might catch my interest. The book in question is a very nice illustrated tome called "Steampunk Soldiers: Uniforms and Weapons from the Age of Steam". I open it up an thumb through and the very first illustration on page 10 caught my eye!
The picture on the left is my Steampunk British Soldier project taken in 2009. The picture on the right is an illustration from the book published in 2014. Now I am sure I am not alone in noticing the similarties. They do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! But a credit might have been nice!
The book itself is great and I actually bought it!
UPDATE: Osprey Publishing have been in touch, they are very nice and have apologised borrowing some design elements. They have stated it was not their intention to claim credit for the creativity of others. They said they will credit me in future runs of the book which I think is more than acceptable. They offered a some complimentary copies of the new print run too when published.

The were originally donor straps from a British Army Clansman backpack frame. However these I painted white with fabric paint.

Great job on the Maxim! It really seems to tie the costume together.
I agree, credit would've been nice.
