Wait, did you pay for photoshop? Or you found another way to get it?

Mine was fully paid for. I had to get the full Adobe Suite for my studies. You can get Photoshop for around $80- in some places, or get a trial version, get a key-gen downloader and do it from there.

Oki sweetie, I have a few other questions about how you draw your line art.
1. You say your pen is an hard brush with size is 3px, but what is the size of the picture you work on?
A 3 pixel brush on a 300x600 pixels pictures won't have the same visual effect as on a 1200x2000 pixels picture.
2. The width of the lines seems to vary (look at his cheek), do you have any precise adjustments on the brush?
(because it looks like calligraphy and this is the point about your line art)
Otherwise your tutorial is awesome. Your creations too.
I await your new creations.

Hi! I work on A4/A5 paper size :3 A majority of my stuff I use a 3 point brush, but I also use a 5 point as well. The lines seem thicker because I usually crop my pictures and blow it up ^^' My pen is put on 'pen pressure sensitivity' in the brush settings hence the width of the lines change (not to mention I also colour over some shadow points as well with the lineart to exhaggerate curves etc. That's why they're usually look like the 'calligraphy' style ^^') Hope this answers your questions. Thank you

*I mean i realise you have set it as normal for the beginning, but is this true in all layers >.<

This is probably a noob question, but do you use multiply on the layers, or set them as normal? Cos I've been multiplying them atm, cos then they don't go over the lineart...but then when I'm adding tones etc it's really hard to keep a track of

No it isn't!
I have my layers set as normal - unless I need to multiply them on purpose. But they are always set as normal.
Are you scanning in a lineart on paper? If so, use the scanned image and set that layer to 'multiply' and make sure that layer is on top- then lock it. All other layers after that can stay 'normal' otherwise you will just confused with shading and highlights.
But all my layers are normal, with a transparent background setting. I hope this helps! :3

No I tend to draw my sketch straight on the computer with my tablet, because I haven't got a scanner at the moment, I then make a new layer and do an "inked in" version with the tool where you make loads of lines and you can bend them and such (sorry I'm having a memory block - I hope you know what I mean!) Should I then set this layer to the top of the list, set it to multiply and lock it? Does this make it easier to colour, in the sense that it won't affect your lineart?
Ahh I see where I'm going partly wrong with layers - I always forget to tick transparent background Thanks so much for your help!

You mean that you make a neater lineart on top of which you can edit? :3
You don't need to set the lineart to multiply if the canvas preset is set to 'transparent'~
But yes. Set your lineart layer to the top of the list, so that all color layers are behind the artwork frame. Locking the lineart means that you can't accidentally color over it or accidentally edit it (which I have done many of times and realize it when it's too late to control Z it)
Locking layers isn't neccessary, but its one of those things I have learnt to do after being burnt too many times. If I'm working on one layer - I lock everything else until I'm done with it etc.etc.
Hope this helps! :3

Window>Brush Presets>Click on the little folder icon that has three brushes on it on the window that you opened>Select 'Shape Dynamics'
You will have to lock this effect in.
Hope this helps!

Sometimes you have to restart the program for it to actually work. Its done this to me before. Just make sure that you lock it in before restarting. You're using a tablet, yeah? Double check the tablet settings as well. Control panel for PC, or Applications for Mac.
