Description
It was another day of misery for the little prince. He let out a growl as he recalled the event from before. He just couldn't understand, why didn't the other cubs like him? It wasn't his fault that he was born small. Tears began rolling down his face as he recalled what happened. The laughter of the other cubs as he was shoved to the ground, being chastised for being weak, the sound of Mufasa joining in on the banter, it all echoed in his mind.

"Takata, what are you doing out here?" A deep voice said from behind him.

Takata whipped his head only to find his grandfather Mohatu standing before him.

"O-oh hi Grandpa, I didn't see you there!" Takata stuttered, "I was about to go back home, I swear!

The former king's gaze softened.

"Nevermind that." he said while gently embracing the young cub, "Tell me, why are you crying?"

"Will you promise not to tell anyone?"

"Of course, my boy. You can tell me anything."

Takata glanced away his eyes tearing up once more, "Its Muffy and the other cubs, they always make fun of me! They always say I'm too small, and they always call me that stupid name!

Mohatu raised a brow, "What weird name?" he asked.

"They call me that stupid name that means trash, Taka! I hate it! I wish I was still with the hyenas at least the cubs there treated me better."

"Takata don't say things like that, trust me one day it will all change. Cubs around your age will soon mature and they won't make fun of you any more".

The young cub couldn't muster a reply as he sobbed into Mohatu's mane. Mohatu looked down at his grandson, the longer he looked at him, the more Takata reminded him of his own brother.

I won't let Takata suffer the same fate, I can't have history repeat itself. I must speak to Uru and Ahadi about this later.

I haven't drawn Mohatu since I've made his ref sheet so, I decided to make some art featuring him. His colors are a little off since the app I was using doesn't pick up on colors accurately. In my headcannon, Takata and Mohatu were pretty close. For Mohatu, Takata was like having his little brother reborn and for Takata, Mohatu was the only person who always made time for him (Ahadi and Uru had to focus on teaching Mufasa and royal duties). I'm hoping I can make more art about developing Scar while I'm working on my comic script.
