Haha yeah. I always like how the obscure ones are usually pretty cool. Or slightly overpowered (eg. FFVI's Crusader).

The occasional "one-offs" are really cool, like Quetzacotl from FFVIII and Crusader like you mentioned, but few games are as packed with varying mythologies as Revenant Wings. It throws tradition out the window and make Shiva a "stay-at-home" Esper. XD

And speaking of Revenant Wings, they turned Atomos from something one can probably have nightmares seeing (that mouth), to a flying creature with boxing gloves. A little bit ridiculous, but it kinda works.

It took me three days to complete since it was the first time I actually inked and coloured using photoshop.
