Beetlestripe was very surprised when Ebonystar chose him as deputy after his father Quickstorm the former deputy died of sickness. Despite this he took on the role with pride and eventually succeeded Ebonystar as leader.
After his first deputy Duskcreek was killed he chose Wolfgaze as his deputy. Despite protests from many due to her being blind he stood firm on his decision knowing she would become a great leader.
After several years of his leadership had passed Beetlestar made the decision to retire, making Wolfstar leader. He works together with her and stands beside her deputy Wildfrost at gatherings and is often still referred to as Beetlestar.
In the rare occasions that there is a battle Beetlestar will stay by Wolfstar and fight alongside her and act as her eyes.
