Nice choices, my friend.
Slayers, Saiyuki, Ranma 1/2, & The Secret of NIMH are some of my biggest influences, too, as an artist when it comes to doing my art.

Disney is that pillar of perfection I'm always trying to reach and probably never will lol.

So you knew Count Duckula before
I though about few of those shows when I was watching your arts before. So there is clean influence.
I would show you my influence but it could be a bit strange.

Yes. That's the point. Awesome 80's
Unfortunately, those movies are considered dark and sinister, even by Disney...

Ahh thank you! I absorbed a lot of stuff in my childhood that helps me draw now.

No problem! That's curious, for I absorbed most of my influences while I was a teenager (but in fact I am still a child... haha)

Yours actually makes sense. Β If I would do that no one would get why that turns into the stuff I make.
I remember watching some of these myself. I cannot rememberΒ any namesΒ though.

Farthing Wood, The Dreamstone and Duckula are all English so I'm sure they must have been shown in your country in the 90s! I am very lucky because we got European, American and Japanese animation here. So Β I absorbed a lot of different styles and techniques at a young age. I always wanted to be an animator so either I was very affected or was an animator in a previous life lol!
You should make one - why not? It's fun!

You would be a great illustrator too, your drawings have a lot of expression and I canβt stress enough how great youβve become at coloring. It really adds to the mood of your pieces. I used to draw a ton when I was a kid and well into my teenage years. I was always known as the art kid in class. Now I canβt seem to find the time to just sit down and draw.
I vaguely remember farthingwood though it was called something completely different in Dutch.

Thank you! I have been practicing and studying a lot.
I was the same as a kid but we all go through phases in our adult life where we can't find the time. It's a great way of reconnecting with the inner child though. And I love watching old cartoons now with an artists eye as I can see how things were drawn, painted, animated etc. It makes me appreciate it as an art form as well as entertainment.
