Description You would think that a scanner, using light, would pick up on the reflective surface of said glitter. but it does not.

also I don't have a cool name for this, I wrote some bullcrap on the back of this but it's not like it means anything. Also once again, looks nothing like how I pictured it, but that's perfectly okay.

I like the hair detail, even if it isn't the color I was totally going for (i wanted it to be a little more strawberry blonde but okay) I do love how her hair fwooshes out in motion, that's all cool.

art is (C) Lear-is-not-amused

Wow the hair is so silky and I like the way you painted the folds in her sleeves. That’s also a halo to be proud of, it’s double tier stuff!

thank you! I still feel there is something kind of gross about this that lacks personality, but it still came out really well.

GROSS??? Thanks for making me laugh a little. I needed it after today.
Gross in what way? It still has the feel of your art (I mean I can tell it’s yours, and that’s a good thing for soneone to have)

I'm sorry about Bear. what happened?
I'm not sure why that made you laugh...

can you? well, I think it's the color palette. it reminds me of those cheesy figurines that are made out of rubber or soft plastic you find at antique stores... or a crappy old childrens book also to be found in an antique store... maybe because it's rather saturated?

It made me laugh because it was just so weird for someone to refer to their work as 'gross'.

Thanks, it's a long story, but basically he was not himself, his eye was popping out and he was all hunched up, the vets refused to see him despite it being an emergency. Others took priority obviously. I was put in touch with a zoo vet who dropped everything and offered to see him where others wouldn't. She diagnosed it as the same thing Hoshi had but sent me to an animal medicine pharmacy to get medication which could be used to treat it at an early stage. It wasn't guaranteed but he had been eating a little at the time so it was a good sign that he may beat it. On the same day he went downhill when he got home. His face swelled and he stopped even trying to eat or drink despite showing a little interest. I messaged the zoo vet and she said she was going to the first vet who refused to see me and I should meet her there the next day so she could do a thorough exam and see to his mouth and teeth as it could be an issue there.

Bear in mind that I had taken Bear for a check up only a month ago and the 'vet' there did a slap up job and said his teeth were perfect.

Anyway, we left him there for the vet to do her thing. It went from an hour procedure to longer. She found a chunk of kale stuck in his mouth which had accounted for the swelling and one bottom tooth was bad while the others just had little spurs on them. Anyway, the wait for him to wake up went on, she said she was giving him oxygen. 20 minutes passed. She came out and told me that they had him on pain relief as he was bloated and that was making him unable to breathe and they were trying to calm him down. A long wait later, she called me back in and said he didn't make it. They brought him back two times and the third was final. The lack of being able to eat had made his gut bloat more than it normally would and that was pretty fatal. I kind of knew in the morning that it was going to end that way. I don't know why, I just knew he wasn't coming back. In some ways it's better that it happened that way and not the lingering way Hoshi went. But in others I wonder if if could have beat it had the original vet seen him first and noticed - but they wouldn't have helped anyway, they didn't have the medication the zoo vet told me about.
I can't complain and I won't as she did everything she could, on a weekend too, from 1 to past 5 she was there while the vet who examined him on a routine check up and who refused to see him, was not.
I won't be getting another rabbit. I would if I could rely on the vets, but I can't, and I don't want to harass the zoo one every time even though she's an amazing lady. It's not her job and it seems like a sign to me that two out of three of my rabbits died because of this disease, what are the odds?

It's just weird that he's not there begging for food. And I'm kind of sorry I put him through that. I have no idea how my sister is going to tell my nephew, he was worried about him and kept asking if Bear would be OK. Last visit he took videos of 'the life of a rabbit called Bear', so I hope he doesn't take it too bad.

Oh my gosh lol, it doesn't look like those cheesy figurines!

that's awful, I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. was it a parasite, or an actual disease?
I completely understand that, I don't think I'll get any more rats for a while when these ones pass away, though mainly because I won't be able to take care of them or give them the attention they deserve.
but it's hard to find someone who specializes in small animals too.
poor Bear. how old was he?

The composition is really neat! I like that you've painted her facing away.
Her flowing, golden hair is absolutely gorgeous!

(Is there glitter in her halo? The only way to really capture that kind of thing is, as dragondoodle said, to photograph the painting.)

thank you! I use any excuse to not have to paint a human face, lol.

she probably has to use a lot of conditioner.

yes, and in her hair. but photos take away from the color a bit, and I don't think the glitter showed up that much when i had the camera on it.

I can tell where the glitter is I've found scanners kill glitter/metallic effects. Photos work better to show that kind of thing off

yeah, but my camera didn't show the glitter either, and also ruined the color so I decided to scan it.

Glitter and metallics are just annoying to try capture.
