"Big brother? May I come in?"

Switzerland jumped, looking up from the piles of paperwork on his desk. He stared confusedly for a moment before figuring out that the thing standing in his doorway was his younger sister, Liechtenstein. He sighed.

"Oh... Yeah, sure."

Liechtenstein nodded and entered the room, her blue ribbon bouncing slightly as she moved. She stopped next to Switzerland’s desk and stared at him expectantly. He coughed awkwardly, not entirely sure what she wanted.

"Well? What is it?" he asked, trying to be patient.

"Oh! Um, w-well, I was wondering... That is, if you're not busy," Liechtenstein began nervously, "I, um... Do you think it would be ok for me to... Maybe, uh, brush your hair for you..? That is, if it's ok with you," she stammered, looking up at him hopefully.

Switzerland blinked, confused by this strange request. "What..?"

"It's just, you see, you have such nice hair... A-and I know that getting your hair brushed helps people relax, and since you've been doing so much work lately, I thought I might try to do something nice for you... If you want me to..."

Switzerland thought about this. She wanted to... brush his hair? What was he, a Barbie doll? He was a man, not some sort of pretty little dress-up doll.
Then again... It was true that he had been working especially hard recently. And while he wasn't one to complain, it wasn't exactly the most enjoyable pastime. The thought of taking a break and relaxing for a little while was awfully tempting... And besides, he just couldn't say no to his sister. Especially not when she made that face.

"...Alright, fine," he said reluctantly. Liechtenstein's face immediately lit up.

"Oh, thank you very much!" she exclaimed, her wide smile reminding Switzerland just why he worked so hard. Liechtenstein grabbed the brush from Switzerland's dresser and happily sat down on the edge of the bed, waiting.

Thoroughly embarrassed, Switzerland awkwardly sat down on the floor in front of Liechtenstein. Smiling, she began to gently brush his hair.

"Your hair is very soft," Liechtenstein observed. "It's nice."

Switzerland gave a mumble of acknowledgement, closing his eyes. Embarrassing as it was, he had to admit that having his hair brushed felt rather… nice. He slowly began to lean back, his hands resting on his sister's knees. A small smile crept across his face as the brush slipped through the strands of his wavy blonde hair, its rhythmic motions hypnotizing him. He soon began to doze off, forgetting his work.

Liechtenstein smiled, glancing at her sleeping brother. She was glad she could help him relax. She slowly stood up, careful not to wake him, and went to put away the brush.

"Good night, big brother. I hope you have pleasant dreams."

My half of an art trade with someone on NaNo. For some reason, I felt the need to write a story to go with it. The request was "something cute", and I know she likes Switzerland, plus Liechtenstein is absolutely adorable... So somehow, this happened. I do like how it came out, although I think I went a little overboard... I found a bunch of new shaders and stuff, so I was like APPLY ALL THE EFFECTS! and now I think it may have been a bit much. ._.' Still cute, though. I also edited it slightly in GIMP, softening up some shadows and adding a simple border.
And yeah, it's really wide. I have no idea why I made it so wide. I'm weird sometimes.
