reminds me of the lion-dog statues you often see, which is what I've a;ways assumed entei was based off not as fantastic as some he looks rather old and worn but Β I always believed they ledgendary beasts would be very oldΒ

Wow, brilliant! Those decorative horns really give this entei the look like a true fantastical beast! Though not completely glamorous, that wrinkly, bulldogish snout gives it almost a bit of character, a sort of aged wisdom feel to him. And nice work on the anatomy details as well. It would've been pretty cool for entei to have trailing back hair like a pillar of smoke, but in any case, I am adoring this drawing.

I'll be honest.... I cringed a little when I saw this.
I'm all about people making realistic interpretations of pokΓ©mon, but....I really, truly think you just didn't pull this one off well. Even without taking into consideration that this is supposed to be Entei, the white 'fur' on his back in combination with the horns just looks awkward, and the horns on his head just look kind of...stuck on there. Perhaps if you extended that 'fur' to make it look more like realistic, wispy smoke, and either gave him a bit more of a mask or make his body hair shaggier, it could come off more as an Entei. I can tell you were trying to avoid making it look totally recognizable, but I feel like it could have just a bit more of an impact if either his body fur was longer or that really wiry 'fur' on his back looked less like it was just stuck on there.

I love Entei, hes my second favorite, right after Gengar.
I love his little tail so cute. hehe
his fur and horns are especially beautiful though the horns don't seem very symmetrical, still an overall wonderful piece.

I always thought Entei was based on a Japanese lion, Raikou was a tiger, and Suicune was loosely based on a snow leopard.

people always try to tell me they're all dogs. I can see how Entei might be a dog (he kinda looks like a St Bernard at times) but Raikou is a damned cat and we all know it. Suicune...well, its Suicune. I think the trio is officially called the Legendary Beasts, so even Nintendo isn't really sure what Suicune is. X3

Suicune is a quilin. It's a Japanese 'unicorn' with purifying powers, but a dragonish muzzle and many other animal traits.

I think it can go either way, they're all pokΓ©mon anyways, I wouldn't limit it to solely "dog" or "cat" in fact, rendition of suicune is by far one of my favorites.
