Normally everything is clear and well-known.

Load an .avi file as background avi, switch ON mood 3 in your MMD programm.

But , i think most people recognize one thing:

It doesnt work !

Why?

The file must be encoded in a determined way.

AVI is a container format. It contains Video and Audio.
MP4 is a container format. It contains also Video and Audio.
MKV is a container format. It contains Video, Audio, and different Subtitels.

That has nothing! to do with the code of the video file.

The video and also the audio is coded with a codec.
The word co-dec is a short form of Code-Decode.

You can put a coded video in every container, but that wouldnt make sense, because the player expects specific
codes if you use a specific container format.

For example :
The most common .mp4 uses h264 format for video, but the next generation was h265 format for streaming.
It is more intensiv to compute, but has better quality by same file size, or: same quality and less file size.
But it is also in a mp4 container format!

MMD was developed, i think even mp3 wasnt existing.(MP3 is NOT a container format,THIS is a codec!)

Modern programs like XMedia Recode ( i use this) can convert the container formats and re-encode the file.

But .avi is very old and neglected, and no modern program can encode .avi files to a .avi file that is useable with MMD.

Except: VirtualDub
it has a download via SourceForge, and it can only! handle .avi files.
( If you want to use a mp4 file first you have to convert it to an AVI file, than to an MS1 compressed avi file)

It comes with a normal GUI(graphic user interface)

The codec (you can choose) has to be MS1. (shown on the photo)
I think that stands for : Microsoft Number1

You can load screens created by Trackdancer, I often use them.
or you can load somewhere else (on my DA are colored screens)

Every .avi that can be used as a background avi can be switched to a screen.

And because many people dont want to visit unknown sites, I created simple background files which can be used by MMD.
They are in the download .

_demoaviconverted.avi ca 7sec 320x160
_demo02.avi ca40sec 640x480 (deleted, exceeds 300MB)!!

PSS.: There is also another possibility.
If you safe uncompressed with your MMD programm, but this is a huge file size. And you cant use this if you have avi files not generated with MMD !
