Description And the challenge from is done!

There are notable differences with the drawing after research - the lower jaw in particular is much more distinct and strong. I drew the skull with the jaw very slightly open, though, leading to some slight difference in the soft tissue around the mouth in the fully rendered image than if the jaw were completely closed.

This was a hell of a lot of fun, and I am glad I stuck through it to the end!

Looks great! The composite skull looks pretty spiffy. It's neat seeing the difference between your original drawing and the skull-based one.

And what a good idea for practice! Hmmm, I might have to try this at some point; might actually get Eventide's facial structure figured out, for once!

I appreciate that a lot! : D It was great fun at the very least, and provoked me to do more research, which is never bad! Thanks for your comment!

It's fascinating to see how you've done the skull design and then overlaid the face shape. It's very evident where the general head musculature would be placed from looking at this.

And gawsh, she's pretty.

I have to agree with you - I can envision those muscles as well!

And awgh - thank you

Peh, I can't really notice a large difference in the jaw between the first and last pictures. You were all ready perfect.

Excellent! I can definitely see the improvements in the jaw and around the eyes!

All I can see is that the nostrils are sitting rather low. I know this is simply Lecca's design, but the tip of the jaw that holds the upper canines seems incredibly fragile as a result for such a big muscular jaw; if she were to bite down hard onto something (which I take it she can, seeing as you based her off of a hyena and a carnotaurus) she looks like she might actually break her upper jaw in the middle there. It may also be because of the hole you drew next to the nostril holes; if you look at the hyena's skull, especially from the side, you'll see that it's all a rather solid whole.

Anyway yeah, pretty awesome improvement and lovely character of course !

This is only speculatory in its design - I could rework the skull in different small ways to get different results. There should be more to the premaxillary bones that house the maxillary incisors, though, certainly - I am not happy with the nares' placement in the new improved image.

I appreciate the detailed comment, and thank you for the kick in the pants to do this with your challenge!
