This is actually a rather small drawing, only an inch or two by another few inches, but this little guy turned out so neat!
Drew him up on the way back from a trip..05 mechanical pencil

It doesn't have to be blatant to be foreshortening, just the act of creating the illusion of depth is enough. Your dragon is very convincingly 3D, is all. 8D

Well, I guess one thing that might be of some help is the fact that I like to get my face really close to the paper, and with this guy the pencil was cooperating beautifully (.05 mechanical pencil - nice and fine
