Description

"Why don't you face me for once instead of looking away?"

Humanized version of Arcee and Knock Out inspired by the recent TFP episodes and this song, Face Me.

I wanted to draw a disfigured Knock Out after watching Tunnel Vision. Really, I actually felt sorry for Dr. Knock Out when that train directly hit him and ruined his paintjob... And Breakdown is already dead so nobody would be kind enough to comfort him. How sad.

As to this picture, I simply love the dynamics in their relationship described in those Knock Out/Arcee fanfictions, and after listening to that song again and again a vague story concept came across my mind. So I drew it. I don't know how to write a decent story summary, though, so just go listen to that song and you'll get the general idea.

By the way, if you also ship this pairing and are in need of some steamy KO/RC love scenes to brighten up your day, please take a look at these two stories. They're my recent favorites.

Lol, we all had the very same reaction while watching that episode, it seems. First we laughed so hard at Knock Out's misfortune, then we all felt sorry for him when we calmed down. Poor guy.

Poor Knock Out! The show is treating him horribly this season

The lighting is beautiful -- very sunset/sunrise-ish -- it reminds me a lot of 'Triage' (I don't know if you've seen that one, but again...POOR THING)

Don't shoot him, Arcee! He's got nothing left to live for!

Yeah, indeed. Sometimes I think Knock Out is becoming more and more like a clown or something. Always doing stupid things and saying silly lines. And now he also lost his handsome features. Poor mech, it must be hard for him...

Wow, really? I really loved the lighting in Triage, especially the colors in the background when Soundwave and Wheeljack fought each other. Perhaps that's why I picked the orange-ish colors right away when I started coloring the background here.

I'm just holding on to the hope that they don't make Soundwave or one of the other Decepticons kill him or something. I don't think I can stand any more character Decepticon deaths this season. Or ever, actually. You're right, since Breakdown died, he's become the laughingstock of the Decepticons. And he's getting too much character development. Or too little. I'm not sure

Yes, the lighting is awesome. It reminds me of the tense fight between Soundwave and Wheeljack, and that makes this scene even more dramatic.

Oh no, that would be horrible. I don't think I can stand it... Please don't kill KO off! Don't be so cruel to him, the Decepticon medic doesn't have much dignity left now, seriously.

Yeah, we already have too many dead Decepticons. For some reason I don't really like the so-called 'character development' in TFP. I don't know, I just thought the writers could do a better job when they wrote the plot. Some characters didn't even change a bit, and they acted practically the same even though so many things had happened during these episodes...

I'm not even sure if it's character development or bad writing at this point, to be honest D: --making him so unenthusiastic in Flying Mind, then totally back in-character for the first couple minutes of 'Tunnel Vision' and then to just being very angry all the way to the end of 'Triage'. Are they trying to send him to the Autobots or something? I just want the snarky doc back, that's all! the writers won't even come out and say what's bringing about this change; if it's Breakdown dying or Knock Out being Megatron's new punching bag! *sigh*

OMG. I can't agree with you more. You just said everything I wanna say about KO's change in recent episodes. Why those writers were so cruel to poor KO? We don't need another punching bag, seriously. We just want our sexy, snarky medic back!

And if Knock Out betrays the Decepticon cause and decides to join the Autobots, the plot would be too similar to Partners. Hopefully they can be more creative when they write the story for later episodes!

reka1207 In reply to Lecidre [2012-06-13 23:29:42 +0000 UTC]

You're right, it would be exactly like 'Partners'. But he might not go rogue.

If Breakdown came back, in theory, things would get better (if he weren't under Silas's control) because KO and Megatron were capable of having very intelligent/calm conversations with one another earlier in the season and since then the only thing that's really changed is BD being gone. But he's not coming back. I don't even know if he's acting up because of Breakdown. It's not clear, which just irks me.

Stop with the character development, KO! You were perfect earlier!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lecidre In reply to reka1207 [2012-06-15 15:25:11 +0000 UTC]

I can't imagine KO going rogue. I don't know, it's kind of difficult to imagine our sexy medic wandering around all by himself in such vulnerable state. Without Breakdown's help, he might not be able to survive out there if he is on his own. And I just don't wanna see KO end up like Screamer. Just stop the unnecessary character development already!

As to Breakdown, I don't think he will be back since he's already DEAD. It's possible that Silas might use his empty frame to sustain life and become a half-robot-and-half-human hybrid thing. I personally don't like that Silas guy that much, so the idea somehow irks me. Why didn't those MECH guys leave poor Breakdown alone?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

reka1207 In reply to Lecidre [2012-06-17 20:30:49 +0000 UTC]

Yes, just stop making him react and do things and get mad! I just want to know how he's going to deal with his new position as Megatron's Punching Bag. And I have a bad feeling it won't be very well. I'd almost rather have him go rogue (as Starscream-like and unbelieveable as it sounds, you're right) than stay there and possibly get killed.

I don't know about Breakdown. I WANT him to be like alive somewhere in there and take over his body and do something heroic, but it's probably not going to happen. Silas creeps me out, and I'm just imagining him going to the ship in BD's body and Megatron allowing him back and then Knock Out, oh Knock Out -- you'll be Target #1! Because you know how he acts. My imagination is getting overactive.

Lecidre In reply to reka1207 [2012-06-20 16:27:36 +0000 UTC]

Well, I don't think anyone would be happy about being crazy old Megs' punching bag. Poor Knock Out, he used to be so cool and now he just lost everything. No Breakdown (the hunky assistant who could do all the work so KO could sneak out and enjoy the car racing fun), no respect, no dignity, and no pretty paintjob. Poor thing, it must be very, very hard for him.

That Silas creeps me out, too. I don't like that guy, so I don't know how to react if we ever see him IN Breakdown's lifeless frame. And we all know it would make Knock Out's life even more miserable. Oh dear, now I really feel sorry for KO...

reka1207 In reply to Lecidre [2012-06-20 23:58:03 +0000 UTC]

He's all alone right now. I want to hug him.

You know what?

They all need a group hug. All the Decepticons. Even the dead/stasis locked ones. They all need to hug and promise to work as a team and support each other. Then they can hug the Autobots and end the war.

I hope they'll only show Breakdown speaking in Silas's voice, or in some mix with his own. Having Silas in his body would be just too creepy for me. Just...'get out and let him rest in peace!' If he and KO don't have a confrontation I think I'll cry. Or scream and break the computer. Then cry. Because if he's going to get unneeded character development, he can at least get closure!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Lecidre In reply to reka1207 [2012-06-21 06:31:05 +0000 UTC]

Indeed, I'm sure they all need a big hug because those bad guys were always treated badly in the series. Although I highly doubt that the audience would be happy about this "Let's hug each other and end this meaningless war!" ending. If the staff really ends the show like this, I guess some hardcore fans might wanna murder them for making the characters insanely OOC.

Yeah, it would really suck if they bring Breakdown back but delete the whole 'Breakdown VS Knock Out' confrontation. They need to tell us how the medic felt ever since his partner got killed!

When the series ends, the Cons will probably all get killed or thrown into jail somewhere (ala Animated) when all they need is love. I read somewhere that Hasbro is super-opposed to the Autobot-Decepticon peacemaking (aka Optimus working with bad guys) which is why the truce in the season 1 finale was so short-lived, and why Orion Pax was only with the 'Cons for a couple episodes. But I want a happy ending for one Transformers series. That's all.

As for the Breakdown and Knock Out fight that must happen, I doubt it will, sadly. At this point I don't think the writers want to step into that mess of 'ohmygoshwemighthavesomebadguysthatCAREDabouteachother'. I don't know if they can handle not-bad bad guys, if you know what I mean. I'm not expaining it very well! I hope (that word doesn't seem strong enough) that we'll get some kind of confirmation of how KO felt about Breakdown's death.

Oh man, that sucks! I haven't really watched Season 3 of TFA yet, but I already know how it would end and I don't like the ending. Maybe the writers thought it would be a bad influence to the kids if they made the bad guys look less evil? Because that would make the villains cooler than the good guys, and then all the kids would want to buy their toys. I just hope the Decepticons in TFP won't have to face the very same fate...

reka1207 In reply to Lecidre [2012-07-02 18:30:03 +0000 UTC]

I don't think there is a perfect way to end any series, and Animated was supposed to go for another season...so we just got left with a bad ending. I think you're right about the writing/bad influense. Personally I think the bad guys are already pretty much cooler, but little kids might not think so. I don't know...I just want them to have some kind of closure I guess. They can go riding off into the sunset looking for another planet to conquer. And the Autobots can chase them? Just no movie-like slaughterhouse.

I can't agree with you more about the movie verse ending. Just watched DOTM on TV last night, and once again I was shocked by the Autobots' brutal killing in that movie. Especially the way Bay portrayed Optimus Prime's character in that one. Optimus would never execute Sentinel like that. WTF, Bay?

So yeah, I suppose anything they're planning for the Decepticons is better than the slautherhouse style we see in Bay's movies. Anything is better than the way Bay handled the characters in his movies.

reka1207 In reply to Lecidre [2012-07-04 23:42:09 +0000 UTC]

I could rant about Dark of the Moon all day, and end up screaming at the computer because it's too sad when my favorite character (Soundwave) gets the best death, in my opinion. He was basically the only one who was actually fighting someone his own size while Starscream and Sam makes me want to cry and Optimus and Sentinel and Megatron just make me sad. And Barricade and Shockwave being shot to death by the humans. It was really disturbing to see the Autobots and Sam act like that. Why. Just w-h-y. That's a horrible way to portray good guys and I love the movie because it gave the 'Cons more screen time, but it was mostly death time.

That was my rant for the day. I hope they go the way of a permanent truce, or even offing Megatron and having a truce with the rest of the 'Cons because he seems to be the driving force behind their war.

Lecidre In reply to reka1207 [2012-07-09 06:02:14 +0000 UTC]

Huh? I thought Soundwave's death scene was quite horrible when I first watched DOTM. It's SOUNDWAVE, after all. He should be more skilled than that. I don't think anyone would believe that Bumblebee was only a young scout after seeing what the Autobot did to Barricade, Rampage, Ravage and Soundwave in Bay's movies...

Basically most of the Decepticons' death scenes were pretty pathetic. I guess Bonecrusher would be the one who gets the best death. He challenged Optimus Prime alone, and he actually fought quite bravely. His death scene was way better than all his other Decepticon buddies' in ROTF and DOTM, really.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

reka1207 In reply to Lecidre [2012-07-12 08:55:03 +0000 UTC]

Oh Soundwave...I just figured that the movie incarnation of him was only suited to intelligence gathering not fighting. At least that's how I justify it in my mind, because in the movies he doesn't seem to want to fight that much. Every time I watch it I try to communicate the need to pull the trigger just a little earlier...but it never works. Bumblebee makes me want to pull my hair out from the roots, especially in the second and third ones when he kills Soundwave and his cassettes.

You're right; they were all sad and pathetic and terrible and I think every fan could've written a better death scene for every character than the writers did.

Lecidre In reply to reka1207 [2012-07-13 05:18:38 +0000 UTC]

That's true. It seems that he was also very good at accounting and making money, too. (DOTM Soundwave reference)

I just didn't like the way Bay (or the screenwriters) handled the characters in the movies. Really, the Autobots were much more bloodthirsty and violent than the Decepticons in Bay's TF trilogy. Look at Bumblebee, Optimus and those Wreckers! My dad was watching DOTM one night, and he was very surprised when we told him that the brutal robot (aka Optimus Prime) who slaughtered the other two bots (Megatron and Sentinel) in the end of the movie was actually the 'good guy'. Way to go, Bay. You just turned our hero into a horrible nightmare.

Lol, that's why we need fanfictions to satisfy our souls. The fans can surely do a better job on the plot when it comes to these giant alien robots, apparently.

reka1207 In reply to Lecidre [2012-07-21 07:40:38 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes, very good at making money! (in the prequel Soundwave explained he used math to make money) I want a Soundwave to make money for me...we'd be best of friends. And to also do anything that requires math.

I get that they were trying to go for a more realistic portrayal of war and being in a war zone, especially in Egypt and Chicago. But they could have referenced the Autobots losing their morals -- the things that keep them separate from the bad guys, and keep the little kids looking up to them -- in some way. Most certainly not death threats that came from a situation that didn't require one (Sam) and killing even when one's opponent is begging for mercy (Optimus). I mean, those two are the ones we're supposed to like and relate to and cheer for. Right? To say nothing of Bumblebee. I don't think you're supposed to be cheering for the bad guys just because you're so irritated with the good guys. (This was also me by the end of the season 2 break).

I was just rereading your reply. The Wreckers. The Wreckers. We're talking about them pulling that Decepticon soldier out of his ship and ripping him apart, right? That was one of the more horrifying parts of the movie. There should be a masterlist of this. "Horrifying things the Autobots (and Sam) did in the Movies."

I think it's slightly sad that both Optimus and Soundwave said 'kill them all', but only one of them -- the good guy -- actually meant it. I have no idea why they had Soundwave say that line, because Laserbeak certainly did not kill them all, but Optimus and co did. The good guys.

Fans should write the movies from now on. We should make it a collabrative script.

Lecidre In reply to reka1207 [2012-08-01 16:54:52 +0000 UTC]

Lol, no wonder I'm so poor. I suck at math. I'm never good at it, maybe that's the reason I'm not rich. How I wish I had a capable accountant like Soundwave! That would be really awesome.

I can't agree with you more about "The Evil Good Guys VS The Good Evil Guys" stuff. I was shocked to see Optimus murdering Megatron and Sentinel when the killing was not really that necessary.

About the Wreckers... well, I'm kind of mad at Bay because he just ruined the awesome Wreckers we see in the comics. Sadly, most people here are more familiar with Bay's TF movies than the TV shows or comics when it comes to Transformers...
