Humanized version of Perceptor and Moonracer inspired by this Transformers fanfiction, Colors in a Span of Grey.(Read the comments here if you don't know what happened between these two previously.)
In the story, Perceptor can no longer handle the heartbreaking pain of losing Moonracer, so he deletes all his memories of her while trying to get rid of his emotions. He focuses on his work and becomes more and more like a callous workaholic. When Moonracer finally comes back to Cybertron after the rescue mission, Perceptor doesn't remember anything about her.
The fic doesn't tell us what happens afterward, so I imagined the rest of the story and drew this three-panel comic strip.
Although Moonracer still can't totally forgive what Perceptor had done when he was involved in those cruel scientific experiments, she actually misses his presence after being separated from him for such a long time. When Moonracer meets Perceptor on the corridor, she tries to say something to him but is ignored by the scientist. Later, she hears the whole story from Wheeljack and realizes what happened to him.
Moonracer regrets deeply, but no one can change the past. She hopes she never said those harsh words to Perceptor in the first place, and she desperately wants to make things well again. But he's not her beloved scientist anymore. He can't even feel anything right now.
I got the inspiration when I was listening to this beautiful song last night. And I just found out that most of my Perceptor/Moonracer artworks are kind of angsty... Maybe I just have a nasty habit of torturing these fictional characters.

You're very welcome, sweetie! I'm just so happy to meet you on this site because you're the first person who actually plans to write a Percy/Moonie fanfic for me. I didn't know people would be this interested in this pairing since it's a rather odd one compared to those canon or slash pairings out there. So yeah, I was really happy and excited when you first mentioned Penumbra to me. I just had to draw something related to your story because a well written Percy/Moonie story like yours deserves more fanart. Glad you enjoyed it!
And no, English isn't my first language. I'm still studying it, though.
Wow, so we can get to see that badass Perceptor in later chapters? That's fantastic! I really loved his new look in LSotW and AHM, so I tend to use his sniper look for reference whenever I humanize him. Can't wait!
Lol, I'm not that bright when it comes to details like these, so sometimes I don't really know how to tell the difference between 'deleting emotions' and 'burying emotions'. Especially when the characters are robots. I've been drawing fanart for these giant alien robots for some time, yet I still can't understand their anatomy and how their CPU/spark/logic circuits work. Oh well.
Now you're making me more and more excited about the later chapters of Penumbra. You need to write faster so we readers don't have to suffer from the waiting!

Ah, a new picture from you! Just when I thought I was catching up with the dozen pictures in my inbox that you've posted, here comes another one! 
But, now to talk about this picture! The many beautiful things about this picture! Oh, where to start?
Well, once again it's a Moonracer/Perceptor pic!
Sometimes I'm surprised by how you do Moonracer, but her hair is always what has me coming back. That beautiful shade of light green is just so pretty and ethereal. Like magical sea foam. 
And Perceptor! Oh, he looks so perfect! He's convincingly a warrior and a scientist at the same time! And his expression in the second panel! Heartbreaking! He doesn't remember Moonracer at all? That's so awful! And at the same time, the angst-lover in me LOVES this sort of plot! Maybe Moonracer can do the same thing as the guy in the upcoming movie, The Vow, where his wife was in an accident and she forgets everything about him so he tries to get her to fall in love with him again. If Perceptor doesn't remember anything about Moonracer, she can try to get him to fall back in love with her if she truly loves him!

Oh dear, I truly hope you're not overwhelmed by the amount of the pictures I posted! I would feel very guilty for that.
I didn't know I would love this pairing this much until I found those stories. And I'll have to blame ~ForgottenMajesty for making this couple even more awesome with her story concepts. Thanks to her ideas, now I ship these two like crazy.
As to Moonracer, I often picture her as a naΓ―ve, innocent young woman who often sees things through rose-colored glasses. She's caring and she loves many things, but she doesn't know much about the dark shadows lurking around her world. Then she experiences difficult things and realizes that the world she lives in is actually a rather cruel one. That's why she often looks kind of girly and fragile in these drawings.
Really? I didn't notice the women I draw are that thin... I'm not sure if it's the art style or the monitor thing. The pictures always look longer (which means the characters will look skinnier) on my PC but they look quite normal on my laptop. I don't know how they're displayed on other computer monitors, though. Or maybe it's just my style that made them skinny...
Haha, that's a brilliant idea! But she will have to make him feel the emotions again if she wants to get him to fall in love with her again. Perhaps Moonracer can ask for Jazz's help in this case. If Jazz can cure a boring EMO bot like Prowl in your fantastic stories, of course he can cure our heartbroken Percy!

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed, but that's not at all your fault. It's my fault for letting all your wonderful pics piled up in my inbox. I should comment on them sooner. I can't imagine how you might feel right now, with the amount of writing I've posted over the last couple of months on top of all the other artists and writers that you follow. Your load seems a bit more daunting.
One of these days when I get some free time, I am going to have to read those stories!
Ah, I totally understand your explanation of her. You do a really good job of capturing her sweetness and naivety, as well as just that bit of heartbroken hauntedness in her face in the last panel of this short comic.
Oh dear, I hope I didn't offend you by mentioning that Moonracer is thin! I really didn't mean anything by it other than an observation that she looks so delicate. 
Darn, that's right! Perceptor deleted his emotions as well as his memories of Moonracer! That makes the task even more difficult! Oh well, if Moonracer truly loves him, then she'll just have to try her best! And, of course, you're right - she can always ask for help from Jazz. He has experience with stubborn EMO patients.

Daunting? Oh, you're over exaggerating, hon. I actually feel lucky because that means I have plenty of new chapters to read. And guess what, I don't have to suffer from any evil cliffhanger at the moment!
Speaking of your stories, I've already read and written some reviews for your fics. But I just couldn't login on FFN no matter how hard I tried. I was wondering if it's just me or the system glitch... I can read stuff, but I cannot login my account and leave a review. Guess I'll save those reviews on my computer first and try to login again tomorrow and see if I can review your fics successfully. Oh my, you didn't offend me at all! No worries, really. I just don't know how the picture looks on other computers, because I once visited my dA page using the computer in our university and I was shocked to see everything suddenly looks so long and weird on that screen... Besides, these characters are often sort of thin in my imagination, so it's not weird if they all look kind of thin compared to other artists' version of humanized TFs.

I suppose that is one advantage you have over many other readers; you don't have to deal with the many cliffhangers I specialize in. But don't think you're getting off completely free- many of the chapters that I've left the stories at right now are terrible cliffhangers, and it may be a while before I update again. 
My goodness, you can't log into FFN? That's so weird! I'm glad you mentioned it. I just tried to log in and it wouldn't let me. O__o Maybe the administrators are doing maintenance on the site and forgot to post the message on the front page? Or else one of their servers are down and the admins are trying to fix it.
We'll just have to let the mysterious changing pictures remain a mystery.

As always this picture is gorgeous. Your use of colour is always so breath taking, I absolutely love it. The look of despair on Moonracer's face comes across so clearly and is a nice contrast to perceptor's uncaring face.

Thank you! Coloring is my favorite part whenever I draw a new pic. It's fun to play with all those colors I can use on my computer. And I personally love drawing angsty stuff when a well written story inspires me... Perhaps that's why I love drawing fanart for this couple this much.
