I finished taking painting 2 last semester, and so stopped painting (my teacher still has some of my work, so I haven't been able to put it up), but last weekend I was suddenly seized with the need to paint an elephant, it was very important that I do so.
Oh dear.
I began sketching it with a water colouring pencil, then I can up with the brilliant idea of going over that with bloody charcoal.
Next I painted the background with water colours. By Crayola.
Then I lightly began painting the elephant with watercolours, so I could get a rough idea of what I wanted it to look like. Originally I was going to paint the elephant in acrylic, but I got out the black and white paint, looked at the canvas, and decided I could fuck it up just as well with water colour. Plus, it would be cheaper.
Half way through doing that I realized the green part of the background looked like leaves. Changed it to make it look crap, instead.
I am definitely not finished with this, but I'm getting sick of it, so I thought I'd put it up to show that I'm still alive

*smack* It doesn't look like crap. I really like it actually. The colors look wonderful and watercolors (I've learned from horrible experiences) aren't the easiest things to work with.

I'm spreading some love.
Yes this is under appreciated work, the colours are nice, like the setting as well. You gave a whole other dimension on the elephant which looks not strong, but beautyfull and colourful at the same time.
