Another drawing of The Face of Time: [link]
This painting started out as a project for my digital imaging class but I think I will be using this or the concept behind this as a villain in a game story I am developing. The game takes place in an industrial steam punk setting and one of the "bad guys" is this bounty hunter who wears a mask to reconstruct his face. His name may be the face of time, I kinda like that one. When he kills his victims, they are referred to have seen the "face of time" plus the gears in his mask gives the appearance of clockworks, so the name fits.
Yes, the blood is falling up giving it a sort of surreal atmosphere frozen in time. If I were to picture time, it would consist of this sort of surreal, mysterious feeling.

Interesting! I'm out of the loop on the modern steampunk thing, but find the concepts fun and interesting (so it doesn't surprise me if it's in there). Thank you for the kind words, and I will (continue to) look forward to your great work.

Thanx spacepilot7! Just took a look at your gallery, it's very nice. Your robotic drawings kinda have a steam punk approach too. ^_^

Simple wow. Love the etched feeling of this piece and the surreal feelings caused by the blood, It's slight unsettling at the same time as really interesting.

That is simply epic. I'm working in a steampunk novel myself, and this is no less than inspiring. Well done.

Aww thank you so much! ^_^ This will be featured in our upcoming game for XBLA on Xbox360. It's a pretty epic story called clouded Oceans.
I'm currently working on the next full-body character design for "The face of time" he is a pretty cool guy, except that he kills lots of innocent people.

Well, perhaps you might be able to aid me with further inspiration in the future then! I hope you wouldn't mind me discussing with you some of the concepts I have for my novel?

Well, just still trying to figure out the geography of the place. Already got most of the political system done. Been wiring it out with another friend who sadly ain't got DA. But I'll send ye some thoughts once things have been further fleshed out.

The guy who wears this is just hard core and had it reconstructed into his scull. He has no more jaw and his teeth were replaced with sharpened metal teeth. He never opens his mouth unless he is biting someone. lol

I love this piece so much. @.@ Why can't I paint like this?! *melts into a ball of emoness*
Okay, but really, wonderful piece, and I love the story behind this as well--just the mood that I get from this, and all the details, it's amazing.

thank you very much ^_^ Oh I'm sure you can paint like this. You just need to feel the mood in your piece before you start. Then with textures, blend modes, and the doge and burn tools; you can achieve realistic effects in a matter of minutes! Photoshop has the power to create wonders and so do you!
Call now! o_O

the texture looks awesome. Im big on the digital art myself, did you draw it then port it in, or did you do it all on the computer?

lol Well, I procrastinated until the night before it was due and I had no choice but to start it and finish it in photoshop. It was a bitch, stayed up all night painting it.
