Description **FULL VIEW NEEDED PLEASE BOYS & GIRLS**]

My first submission using my new Fuji S5500...

It's an old USSR Zenit-E camera my new housemate brought, but has never used. I was fascinated by it, it's funky as hell! If it still works, I'm gonna have to have a go and stick something up here on DA...

Techincally speaking, what have I done wrong in this pic?

Good god, I havent seen a zenit-E for years! (Used to own one)

Fun camera, hard to work if you're not used to it, as everyhing is completly manual.

And I have the same focusing problem on my S5000, it's stupid like that.

Good cameras - both the Zenit and your Fuji...and in time you'll learn how to use the new one.
If you have enough time when making photos, why don't you always try making them with different settings and than later on choose the right ones and see what works best?

yeah, shame that Zenit isn't mine tho!
That's exactly what I'm doin right now - taking photos of the same subject with different modes, and sexperimenting with aperture and shutter priority modes... It's starting to make more sense and I'm more aware of what type of settings diferent types of shot need. The most difficult IMO are shots under bright sunshine. That's still confusing me - but I'm enjoying the challenge!

funky camera, a lot of old photography enthusiasts use these, personally i prefer my digital cameras. as for the photo, the zenit should probably be in focus as said before.

when i shoot closeups i usually set my camera to manual focus, then you just move the camera until you get the focus right. hope that helps a bit.

yeahman it's a well funky camera! I prefer digital too. It's less messy so is good for the clumsy folk like me! But I'm still very much an amateur at this so any tips are well appreciated.

Nice1.

Techincally speaking, if the Zenit-E camera was the focal point of the picture maybe it should be in focus?

But the focus is actually behind the camera on what looks like the lens cap maybe if your aperture was a little smaller you would have had a larger depth of field...

but it is a funky camera, cant wait to see the pics it takes!

damn, you're right Jac! Why am I focusing on the lens cap!? lol

I was using nightmode in low light conditions, and I'm not used to the camera yet. I'll try aperture priority later on tnite, and see what happens. I'm still learning all the aperture/depth of field stuff, so I really appreciate the advice bro.

cheers

No wukin furries bro... i dont think it is you , like you said i reckon the auto focus has just picked up on the lens cap in low light....

This might help to...

The Fuji S5500 has different types of focus being:

• Auto focus
• AF Area Focus
• AF Centre Focus
• Manual focus
• AF assist illuminator effective up to 2m

Focus distance
• Normal: 0.9 m - Infinity
• Macro: 10cm

wicked man. lol @ wuckin forries, hahahahah!

I'll have to have a proper gander at the manual when I get home. It's like <-------> <-this thick, and i can barely read! lol

But thanks again for the pointers man. I'll work at it.
