Description
Another fake screenshot for a battle in The Crossover Game. As mentioned before, the overall gameplay is very similar to Super Smash Bros, so I reflected on this in the picture seen here. The first screenshot I've made can be seen here: leehatake93.deviantart.com/art…This time around, however, the screenshot depicts characters fighting in the Nintendo DS version of the game. Yes, you read that right. Nintendo DS, as in the system that came before the 3DS. Like the 3DS version, the Nintendo DS version uses sprites. However, whereas the 3DS version uses larger sprites, like in Project X Zone and Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden, the DS version uses more simplified sprites in the style of Jump Superstars and Jump Ultimate Stars. The overall layout in the DS version is nearly identical to the 3DS version, though it would be at a smaller resolution.
Like the Jump Stars games, players can switch between the leader and support character via the DS' touch screen or holding down the R button. Merely pressing the R button will call the character for a support attack.
DISCLAIMER: This is NOT a real game. It's merely a concept that I play around with in my free time.
This image depicts a battle between Cole MacGrath (Yes, a PlayStation character), Dylan Holmes (an OC of mine), Pokemon Trainer Red (called "Champion Red" in-game), and Spider-Man (in his Marvel vs Capcom design). The background is the Distortion World from Pokemon: Platinum Version.
The characters and their connections to each other are listed below:
1. Cole MacGrath is teamed up with Sasuke Uchiha from Naruto Shippuden. Not only is one of Sasuke's signature moves electric-based like Cole's powers, but when Cole is evil, he gains the ability to use fire powers, a staple in Sasuke's moveset. Additionally, Sasuke began as a hero, turned to a villain, and later redeemed himself as the series ended. Players of the inFamous series have the option to make Cole follow the same path. Cole's sprite was made entirely from scratch.
2. Dylan Holmes is an original character I created that debuted in The Sims 3 as Cole MacGrath's son, but later became not only his own character in the Vengeance series (a series of superhero game ideas of mine and 's), but has also become an icon for LegendGames Entertainment as a whole, becoming somewhat of a Stan Lee-esque character as he'd appear in ever LegendGames game or story, either as a cameo or protagonist. He is teamed up with another OC of mine named Raizo Dragonheart. Raizo hails from a series called Elders' Legacy, which is my idea of an RPG world in the vein of The Elder Scrolls, The Legend of Zelda, and God of War (even though it's not an RPG, per se). Like Dylan, Raizo began as just the name of my Dragonborn in Skyrim, but later evolved into his own separate character. Another similarity the two share is that I first played The Sims 3 and Skyrim on Xbox 360, but now I play The Sims on PC and Skyrim on PS3 until the remastere edition is released. The Sims version of Dylan Holmes and the Dragonborn Raizo are also vampires in their respective games, married with children, and have sisters that fall to the dark side. Their original incarnations are both owned by LegendGames Entertainment and are playable in Toshiko X LegendGames: Superstar Smackdown. Dylan and Raizo's portraits were drawn by Do make sure you check out his awesome gallery.
3. Pokemon Trainer Red, labeled as Champion Red, is teamed up with Yugi Muto from the Yu-Gi-Oh! series. Both characters are revered as the strongest (Pokemon Trainer/Duelist) in their respective series, are notable for being the first and most iconic protagonists of their respective franchise, battle their successors in the following series (Red vs Ethan/Gold in Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal and Yugi vs Jaden in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX), both have obnoxious rivals that stop at nothing to prove that they're the best, and both control some form of monsters to fight alongside them (Pokemon and Duel Monsters).
4. Spider-Man is teamed up with Frank West from Dead Rising as both characters are photographers and playable in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Spider-Man's sprite was made entirely from scratch.
