Description
Another fake screenshot for a battle in The Crossover Game. As mentioned before, the overall gameplay is very similar to Super Smash Bros, so I reflected on this in the picture seen here. The first screenshot I've made can be seen here: leehatake93.deviantart.com/art…This time around, however, the screenshot depicts characters fighting in the PlayStation Portable (PSP) version of the game. (Yes, just like the Nintendo DS version, this game would be released on the PSP). The PSP version is unique in that it uses sprites, like the Nintendo handheld versions of the game, however, the sprites are drawn in an animated style. Instead of appearing pixelated, they actually appear to be taken out of a cartoon or anime, much like games like Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix, Divekick, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and Indivisible Prototype. Characters are drawn to appear reminiscent of their source material, however, like the sprites in the DS/3DS versions of the game, they are drawn in a somewhat unified art style. An interesting thing to note is that unlike the Nintendo versions of the game, the PSP version would mix 2D character renders with 3D environments.
The HUD is the same as the Vita version's redesign.
DISCLAIMER: This is NOT a real game. It's merely a concept that I play around with in my free time.
This image depicts a battle between Akuma (Street Fighter), Johnny Gat (Saints Row, in his Divekick design), Ajna (Indivisble Prototype), and Jesse (Telltale Games' Minecraft: Story Mode). The stage is simply called "New World" and is taken from Minecraft, notably, a screenshot from one of my own worlds in Minecraft for the PlayStation Vita.
The characters and their connections to each other are listed below:
1. Akuma is teamed up with Nightmare from Soulcalibur as both characters are evil opponents in fighting games, and have served as bosses in the arcade modes for their games.
2. Johnny Gat is teamed up with Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza. In addition to both characters being link to criminal factions (Johnny with the Third Street Saints and Kiryu with the Yakuza) and having similarly-colored clothing, both characters are of oriental descent, with Johnny being Korean and Kiryu being Japanese.
3. Ajna is teamed up with Shovel Knight as both characters are protagonists of indie games. Additionally, Shovel Knight will appear as a guest character in Indivisible.
4. Jesse is teamed up with Chase McCain from LEGO City Undercover as both characters come from blocky worlds and their source material involves building something, with Minecraft often being described as "a virtual LEGO collection". Additionally, Jesse is playable in the first official Minecraft game to feature voice acting, while Chase McCain appears in the first open-world, original LEGO game to feature voice acting (since LEGO Batman 2 was a licensed game). I drew Jesse entirely by scratch.
