I've got to be honest, along with the art style, I've been holding back on Homestuck because the fans can be crazy.. Not as bad as Hetalia fans, (a lot of Hetalia fans drive me fucking crazy, and the fandom is giant,) but still, a lot of the Homestuck fans I've had a chance encounter to meet are not my type of person.
