Yeah, really easy once Luke told me how (10 brawls on the Shadow Moses level, iirc). I only ever really play Smash against folks online so I haven't unlocked half the characters.
We will totally have to Brawl online if Santa brings you a Wii!

Oh, boo. Online gaming is sweet, my PC can't handle much so there's a huge novelty for me in playing games online with a console, lol.
I realised the other week how FEW "proper" games I've played, and Metal Gear Solid was the one series EVERYONE told me I HAD to play or else. Of course, I don't have anything so fancy as a PS3 so I'll never get to play the latest one, but I hear the originals are excellent, so.

Don't ever get into Warcraft, cause that will have ya hooked.. for a fee. I'm lucky, cause my addiction has been conquered and subdued. My sis and her bf aren't so lucky. X3
Aye, I heard of MGS from one of Yahtzee's reviews, which led me to watching some cut-scenes.. which just blew me away. Have a read of my most "recent" journal entry on the subject.
PS3 is expensive, but it's on my future gifts list. X3

I nearly DID read your journal entry 'till I saw it had spoilers in it. I would IMAGINE I'll end up grabbing a PS3 within the next year (or badger Luke into getting one, ahem) and if there are big plot twists and special things, I want to try and be surprised as much as possible (this is coming from somebody who DIDNT know the twist at the end of Fight Club until... a month ago? When I FINALLY watched it? XD)
I've had very bad experiences with online gaming. I lost a friend of mine entirely to it. She became (and remains) absolutely obsessed with City of Heroes, to the point that she refused to do anything REAL with us, her, y'know, RL friends. In the end she had no job, didn't leave her room and ended up having to move home. Not fun.

Still, you should definitely watch the cut scenes of the fourth game; they are gut-wrenchingly superb.
Ya know, the online gaming negatives you mentioned are very familiar. :C My sis is obsessed with the game, but she's not too far gone. She did have a friend once, who was unemployed and was spending way too much time playing.
I guess it's not only the game but also the people that keep you inside. That's why I dragged most of my good people onto my msn list while I had an extended break from gaming. X3
