View from the top of the Empire State building, looking south toward the financial district. In this distance you can just barely make out the Statue of Liberty.

This image is really about the relation of the personal scale to that of the city. You can see in the street scale the occupation of the cars and people in the right, and that is contrasted with the distant sprawling monstrosity that is the urban character of the city. Man-society, part-whole, building-city.
