I will blink away another tearAnd pretend it didn't happen
I'll watch you turn your head
Drop your jaw and stare
And you'll pretend
If only for a tiny blip in time
A nanosecond
An instant
I will watch you pretend
That I don't exist.
I see the thought flash
I watch it cross your face
The wheels turning
The gears shifting
Your thought process turning
To her.
Your eyes scan her body
Up then down.
Down then up.
Exploring. Comparing.
And just like that, it's over.
Your eyes turn back to me.
And I'll blink back another tear
And pretend it didn't happen.
