A little of Topaz's history, she was trapped under hundreds and hundreds of pounds of earth for 5,000+ years before being uncovered by the humans.Any resemblance to characters of other works by other creators is completely coincidental. Steven Universe is owned by Cartoon Network and its creator(s), but the character and design of Topaz is mine. The artwork is also mine, so please do not post elsewhere without my permission. Do not trace, reproduce, or steal in any shape or form. If you want something drawn for you, I'm open to art trades, commissions, and the like! There really is no reason to steal!

My first two gems had been trapped in gemstate for 5k years too. Jade's okay with it, (actually she was trapped for 10k years) but Benitoite's a big sourpuss about it. x3

Topaz was trapped by Azotic Topaz, so she's a little bitter at HER, but she isn't so sour about being trapped for that amount of time. XD

Both Jade and Benitoite are fugitives. Both "Arrested/imprisoned" for being rebels. Though I made them before later realizing that any gem that isn't of use just gets shattered, I also have had this headcanon for a while that gems that are of "no use" can still be "of use" to like power things? Like Lapis and her Mirror, in a sense. So they got gemstated and imprisoned to have like a use for something later. Jade was sent to Earth and that's where Benitoite had been captured (he had an 18k year rampage across homeworld worlds/locations before finally getting caught on Earth) and the both of them were in an Earth prison temple where they were eventually, finally, discovered and freed.

What an interesting storyline! O:! I like that headcanon an awful lot, it makes sense. I mean, after all, if they don't have a specific job, just sitting around being useless just can't be an option. Very creative of you.
