I really hope this isn't cringe...

The sun was setting behind Nora, casting her shadow long in front of her. Like a clock and a compass, her faithful shadow accompanied her wherever she went. In the morning, she would run from it, and in the evening, she would chase it. When her shadow retired for the night, she would settle in too. Day after day, only her shadow and the soft crinch-crunch of the snow kept her company on her eastward journey.

Nora didn't mind the cold or the long walks; her body was made for it. A coat of soft light gray fur covered her body and concealed her athletic build from the harsh wind and the cold. The isolation, too, she didn't mind. She used to be a hunter before she left the Silvertail clan. For days she would stalk her prey alone, and after the kill, days coming back. No, she didn't mind the loneliness, or so she thought.
