Fourth mermay week with OldNadiaRausa‘s weekly prompts, this time “enemies”.
Love is tough when you’re a cannibalistic species.

It was since I first caressed the idea of doing mermay that I’ve been wanting to draw a shark merfolk couple. Of the fierce and charismatic nature of sharks has been said much, and the toughness and adaptability of those majestic predators makes them one of my favorite kind of animals in the whole animal kingdom. Now, what I love about the concept of mermay itself is that for a month artists and illustrators are allowed to blur the lines between human and animal -sea animal, in this case- and to give their creations soul, personality, behavior and instinct altogether.
Can sharks love?
