Description
I made this image for my Facebook account a year ago, and now that it's my avatar in DA I actually forgot to submit it. I've always had an interest for automatons, ancient clocks and clockwork stuff, so I painted this happy creepy little guy with his clockwork baby sparrow (or turtledove or pidgeon, or whatever you want ) Hope you like it!Made with mixed media (acrylic paint and watercolor)
Edit: added yellow filter

The clockwork-brain, the lenses, those tiniy hands for his tiny clock-maker-tools - it's an amazing character design.
+ Now I know, who invented Bubo the golden Owl from „Clash of the Titans“!

Despite the fact this concept is pretty old now (I made it in 2014) I still like it. I don't know if I'll ever get lost into the clockwork detail trap again...
Who's bubo? I googled it, and it looks cute!

I often start to dislike my own works after some time, because I improved technichally or I get an idea, how to make the picture better.
O.K., here's the Bubo-Wiki: In the original version of the movie „Clash of the Titans“ (from the 80s) they decided to add a robot like R2D2 due to the success of Star Wars. The story took place in ancient Greece, that's why Bubo was a mechanical owl. It was sent by the gods to help the heroe. By the way, in the remake of the movie it appears in one scene: The heroe finds Bubo in a box and throw it away.

Ahah, thank you! You know, it's my job: I adore creepiness, but I'm not mean! See... I like creepiness in a daily, even sweet way...like one of those strange aspects that can change your vision towards a common thing
