This portrait of Spock or Leonard Nimoy which ever way you want to look at it has been along time coming for me. I saved the reference photo to my phone years ago afraid that I wouldn't have the skills to draw Spock but I don't think it turned out to bad in the end. I loved Star Trek growing up and I still do so there will be a William Shatner Portrait in the works at some point. The bulk of the face is drawn in Charcoal and I chose Charcoal for its deep blacks and its great for layering skin textures. The background started off in tattoo ink and it didn't take me long to realise that it was a big mistake so I layered Pastels over the top of it. I filled the space at the bottom of artwork with the awesome Starship Enterprise some planets and a pinky, purple nebula... It had to be done 😂
