Description
My first attempt at a flash project (and I just had to go and make it interactive too!)Controls are simply:
MOUSE OVER each button to see who the character is
CLICK a button to view a popup display giving a brief bio of the character
CLICK the popup display to remove it
So this is an interactive family tree introducing all the characters from the Cloud Legacy, who will all eventually feature in the ongoing fanfiction series 'Order of Midnight' - it will allow you to get to know each of the characters in a little more depth, and may even provide some sneaky insight into what the future of the fanfiction has in store

OHMYGOD!! This is so gorgeous!! PLEASE tell me how you did it? With what software? I can try to guess that the videos are from Fraps/Bandicam, the BG picture is compliled in Shotoshop, but the rest of it? How did you put it together??
π: 0 β©: 1
legacycloud In reply to Roksik [2013-09-23 12:14:49 +0000 UTC]
Well you are quite right about the video captures - they are all done using fraps (as were the screenshots for all the still portait images used).
Β
The BG, Portrait buttons and tree network were compiled with photoshop. The Finished file sitting here was put together with Adobe Flash. If you're familiar at all with basic coding, then scripting something like this is relatively simple since nothing was actually generated with the Flash Editor. It's really just a case of toggling object visibility

And tyvm for the kind praise

It was first inspired by the fact that the in game family tree wasn't capable of showing all the correct relationships and layout. I mean come on... In a world of Sith & Jedi, how can they overlook the whole Master/Apprentice thing?

My Jedi is a loner...Β Her family tree just consists of only Dremata Forest. XD

Yeah it's a little on the large size isn't it
Β
My theory was that a large image can be scaled down, where a smaller one can't be scaled up so easily

Thanks! As for how it was done, I'm sure there are much more efficient methods than those I usedm but I'd be happy to share what I've learned with you if wanted

Nice! It's a great idea, and I don't think I see anything off Flash-wise.
the web page
My one wish would be if it's a tad smaller to fit the webpage.

legacycloud In reply to JoswanKodaigo [2013-07-13 22:58:28 +0000 UTC]
I know what you mean about the sizing - however it has already been reduced by around 30% from the original! lol
The initial idea was something that was like a giant wallchart that you browsed around, but I guess that doesn't quite carry as well onto a webpage as I'd first hoped - just makes me glad for the "ctrl -" command

mmhmm. I thought the text wasn't too small when I scrolled the size way down.

And errm... there's a 17th character, but since she's a 'different age' version of one of the existing ones with a different class, she didn't make it into the tree!

Can't you just add a small picture of the younger version of Crystyl to the small thing of Crystyl? At least it was Crystyl right? Or was it Cutee?
