I'm in the weird part of The Legacy Universe again.This weekend, I wandered into mystic realms and dabbled in the magic of creation.
This pin-up/concept page was the first of my conjurings.
Mr. Weird is heavily-inspired by two of Steve Ditko's creations, Doctor Strange and Mysterio (always loved his gloves!)
There are a few other magical things, boiling in the creative cauldrons, that I'll be posting soon.
Mr. Weird has appeared previously, alongside Mythic, in a battle for the hero's soul.

Indeed, Ive always been such a fan of his. He was like Jack Kirby that way, they would come up with some weird designs but whenever they drew them it worked. Whenever I see other people try to render their stuff it looks odd.

I can definitely see the Ditko design elements but there's also a heavy dose of Kirby on the page here. The face especially has a very 'fourth world' feel. Almost like Metron, really, with the eyes.

Absolutely! Heck, 'Designed by Ditko, drawn by Kirby' describes most of my earliest favorite comics experiences.
