The scene comes off as more interesting and dynamic with the lantern knocked over. I think the colors seem a bit more intense as well. It seems more "inviting" as if beckoning me to come and explore.

I kind of like this one better. Just the angle with the light being the overall centerpiece, it doesn't act like a counterbalance for the figure in red like in the first one.
