Description
I finally finished my scythe attack scene for my animation class, and it was quite fun. I couldn't find any live references so I had to shoot my own of me swinging a broom tied to a stick. Turned out better that way because since I came up with the swing path, I knew how the motion flowed and could block it out better. The hard part of this animation was getting the scythe to flow right while gimbled locked, and the B-twist flip and its timing. Maya was not liking how I was rotating things, and the dummy was being... well a dummy. Though in the end im happy at how it turned out, and would go as far to say its one of my best animations yet. Hopefully I can do this with some of the other RWBY weapons but we'll see. Feel free to to leave a comment with your thoughts on this animation, im always open to critique's. Tanks and enjoy.dummy rig is not mine, here's a link to it

notice the movement of the characters, the way you act and maintain the expressions on their facial expressions too. and don't be afraid to get fancy with it you know? XD and again its just an example. your very good at lighting and fire animations as well as character acting. and hey look its just constructive feedback. just some advice is all. its up to you to take it or not. at the end of the day your animations are fantastic! keep working hard okay?

This is really nice movement for this "weapon" I like how you made it rotate to form a circle, it suits the shape of the blade and makes it work well ^_^

Sweet, can't wait.
So is this actually more like an art project that you get graded for? That would be so cool.

Yes I did get graded for this and got an "A", and those are hard to get in my animation class. I to look forward to seeing how I can further advance this animation, possibly make it look higher quality.

Nice, maybe make it to Monty's quality of smoothness.
That's an interesting thought, I heard he never had a college degree. He actually qualified for jobs; do you know if this is true?

You're welcome!
Are you by any chance an Animation student in college? or your Animation class is just a workshop?

Oh so then it is a Workshop? Animator students in colleges takes this kind of subjects in 2nd or 3rd year. You've done something advance and I'm a bit surprised that you're learning those other than being in the course itself, other than Workshops.

srry for late rply. no, im in animation classes at college, Ive never been to a workshop. Most of the rigs you see on my page were 90% made by me self teaching these skills. My classes focus on the principles of animation, which i enjoy the same. Some was taught from youtube others, digital tutors but other than that it was just me and my friends. If you have any questions on how i did something just shoot me a comment or a note and ill see if I can point you in the right direction
