Description Here is one of my favorite dioramas.  I would have done a few things different today, like not making a square base, bringing the Kaiju closer together.  But it has a lot of cool features, and read on for the story I wrote for it which is like a newspaper article.  See if you can pick out any Easter eggs in it.
The kits are Kaiyodo vinyls, and I resculpted Godzilla 92 so he is not in the original static position.  I hope he looks about to lunge.

Kaiju Confrontation Causes Continuing Chaos
By Steve Martin Jr.
The Tokyo Times
KOUCHI – 1992 has been a year of much destruction in Japan due to giant monster battles. Most recently was the infamous Yokohama Bay debacle caused by Godzilla, Batra and Mothra. The result of this incident was the apparent demise of Godzilla and Batra, with Mothra forsaking her beloved Earth and Infant Island to fulfill Batra’s destiny somewhere in outer space. Mothra and Batra’s tag team against Godzilla may have saved Japan from total ruin. Godzilla Batra Since his first recorded appearance and death in 1954, Godzilla has shown many times that the “rumors of his death were greatly exaggerated”. Yesterday not only has Godzilla reappeared, but Batra has risen as well for a rematch at the expense of the pristine Ashizuri–Uwakai National Park, particularly the Ashizuri Cape Lighthouse. The lighthouse, a beacon that guided ships away from rocky shores since it was first lit in 1914, has become a casualty of a Kaiju confrontation. The landmark now lies under the waves. Incredibly, this monstrous episode caused no loss of life, though several people were at the scene and able to comment on their horrific experience. Three lighthouse and National Park caretakers narrowly escaped with their lives. Harou Ryu, who has cared for the Ashizuri Lighthouse for the last 30 years, had this to say: “I was up in the lighthouse beacon when the ground began to shake like a wet dog. I came out onto the battlement just in time to see Godzilla’s leg swinging towards me. Suddenly I found myself and the lighthouse crashing into the sea, with Godzilla close behind. The fact that I was not crushed is nothing short of a miracle.” Shinji Satsuma and Kenpachiro Takagi both evaded certain doom by diving into the Pacific. “You should have seen it,” said Satsuma. “It was the most spectacular unintended synchronized dive between a monster and a human ever.” Takagi, who according to Satsuma, dove off the cliff first, could only say “Gojira!” On a human interest note, or if you will, “canine interest”, Ryu’s two dogs, a dachshund named Hurricane and a German Sheppard named King Seesar dutifully stood their ground to protect their master’s property, barking frantically mere feet away from the towering atomic menace. “I was so proud of them,” wept Ryu, “but my property is gone forever. Godzilla snags a claw trying to step over my house, and just look at it! Worst of all, my collection of Kaiyodo models is in shambles. And I was worried about what my grandkids might do to them…” Out at sea, the “Tanaka Maru”, a fishing boat in the area also miraculously avoided disaster. The captain, Hideto Ogata, gave this account: “We were fishing off the coast of Shikoku Island when we were suddenly hit with hurricane force winds that quickly drove us toward the rocky shores. What were clear skies moments before were not darkened by storm clouds, but by the enormous wings of Batra. My first mate, Yuji Kurosawa was knocked by waves off the deck. Akira Sakai, my other crew member, quickly threw him a life preserver and we were eventually able to recover him, but not before Godzilla did the biggest “cannonball” I have ever seen, which pushed us further out to sea and out of harm’s way.” A Canadian Tourist who declined to give his full name but answered to “JD” drove up to visit the lighthouse earlier that day. “I saw Godzilla’s head appear over the ridge just as I was getting in my car to leave, and I would have left, but the Big Guy’s feet made a mess of the road, and I eventually had to be airlifted out of there. This will make a great feature in G-Fan!” The question remains, with Mothra on a mission in space, is there any hope for humanity?

Oh yes it did!  I do wish now I would have made the base lighter and not a rectangle.  But I spent months on it..
