A little concept sketch of how I'd see Sevro from Red Rising (by Pierce Brown ).I've LOVED the first book... but I loved even more the second one, Golden Son! A pure sci-fi series mixing social problems and Roman mythology. Priceless. 100% recommended. It's not the typical young-adult literature, it's actually pretty mature and hardcore.

Oh wow I just finished the second book today and I really love this! Such a perfect imagining of him! I pictured him differently, kind of more weasely maybe?, but anyway that doesn't matter because I still adore this, totally perfect for him!

Wow that looks pretty epic. And it screams fantasy as opposite to sci-fi, which makes me even more curious if it's sci-fi. I always liked the blends of those genres, gotta check if that book is availible at my country

It's considered young-adult because of the dystopian future and social rebellion like Hunger Games and stuff. And the characters are teens. BUUUUUT... everything is just so hardcore I wouldn't consider it "young-adult", but more in the Game of Thrones-style X_D There's a lot of violence (both verbal and physical) and it even includes rape (not anything too explicit but it happens often).
Oh gosh, I loved it so much and I SO FRIGGIN' NEED THE LAST BOOK.

You can read Red Rising with no problem. Trust me. The ending is not a cliffhanger and kinda "expected", so you should be fine.
But yeah. DO NOT START GOLDEN SON UNTIL YOU HAVE MORNING STAR IN YOUR HANDS. Because the ending is so friggin' SDFHASPDOFHIASPDFHASPDHFSF-cliffnager and I wanna kill myself on this agonic waiting.
Btw, Pierce Brown is LOVE (and handsome).

Lol thank you for the heads up I just gotta finish up The Martian and LOTR before I can get on with any other series. And I feel for you, the many times I've been left hanging because of those book endings- uggh the pain of waiting!!!
