Description
My character Braden as the restored Matariel. This is the third of four possible aspects for Braden: Normal, Arisen, Restored, and Exalted.

He looked down at his hands, wondering at the beautiful glow he was giving off, then at his angelic wings that instinctively beat slowly to keep him aloft. He had been moments from death, his body broken and burned, but now he was completely healed. More than that, he was completely remade. He was a new creation: Matariel, an incarnation of the hope of the Most High.

He looked around him, dazed for a moment. All around him stood the people he knew, staring up at him with wonder: a ragged Allistor and a worried Cazora, a wounded Starwynd and a defeated Senya, a filthy Fablain and awestruck Cynthia. The unnatural darkness around them seemed to recoil at his presence and the gathered party was surprised to find the light he gave off healing their wounds [...]

“He’s... beautiful,” Cazora breathed slowly as they watched the angel ascend into the sky, his heavenly luminescence repelling the darkness.

“Yes,” Allistor said softly. “A beacon of hope for a battered army. We may yet see the dawn.”
