Thank you very much. I spent the most of the last winter in creating a technique for emulating a real looking window glass and the results you can see in this one and in "Sudden Revelations ".

Thank you very much. This was my most ambitious attempt to emulate window glass and I think I managed quite well. I'm really glad you like it, my friend.
Thank you for collecting this.

Thank you, Penny. I'm quite proud of this piece. At last a window looks like I want. It's funny how I get obsessed by making one detail realistic. When I use this technique later no one even notices the whole thing, not to mention they could even think how many hours I sat here improving this method.
I'm glad you like the view.

PenelopeT In reply to Lemmy-X [2009-02-13 22:03:23 +0000 UTC]
yea, I know how that is... sometimes others don't notice what all went into something... but, I guess that's also the mark of a good art method is when no one notices and thinks it is seamless
π: 0 β©: 1
Lemmy-X In reply to PenelopeT [2009-02-13 22:17:00 +0000 UTC]
That's true what you say about something being so fine done it's seamless. With many elements in manipulations that's how they should get done. Mistakes are so easy to point out.

Nice composition, and a brilliant glass effect, it works really well. I like the contrasting complementary colours between the wall and the window. This is a nice piece of conceptual art. Two worlds, with many dimensions.
π: 0 β©: 1
Lemmy-X In reply to awstock [2009-02-13 20:20:22 +0000 UTC]
Thanks, Wayne. I tried to view both worlds equally; the dream world that exists only as a reflection on window panes and the real world behind the window. The stone wall around the window represents the unbreakable barrier that separates these two dimensions from each others.
I leave this `emulation developmentΒ΄ for a while to make something more relaxing for a change. I'll get back to it later. I know myself well enough to tell that I can't keep it out of my thoughts for a long time anyway.
Peaceful Valentine's Day, my friend.
Lemmy Thank you very much for the

Thank for sharing the explanation behind this work.
I know what you mean; following a self challenge like the βglass emulationβ can be intensive headwork, and I find that often when I leave something like this for a while and come back to it fresh it is easier to build on with a fresh mindset.
And I know what you mean by not letting it go, but a little rest is better than no rest.
