I needed a break from another project so I did a mailer design; I'm not in love with it. I tried using colors I normally avoid (purple/yellow, initially. It...drifted. I JUST LOVE GREEN OKAY), which is maybe not a great choice for something meant to be a representative snapshot of my work. It's okay, I will paint another! Also that is the ampersand from the cover of one of my favorite books. In its natural habitat, it's a reasonably magnificent ampersand.Watercolor & digital.

This is such a creative idea. I never would have thought to make a QR code an interactive part of an artwork. Splendid job!

Oh, lovely! The soft shading is really, really nice, especially in the skirt and where the wall fades towards the window. And that translucent curtain, and the light and shadow on her face. But it's the expressions and postures that give it so much life and appeal. Your colors work beautifully, and your drawing is a true delight.
And that book with the ampersand is a wonderful book indeed. I've been listening to the audio version in the car these days and enjoying it thoroughly all over again.

well, the colors make it work pretty decently within the design. There are a couple other spots of graphic pattern (cat, dress, necklace, urn) that help to incorporate it. If it's driving you crazy though, I wouldn't miss it if you took it out. But as is, I think it's fine.

It looks very much like your usual style--just a bit more ambient shadowing than your environments shown so far, conjuring up the interior of a house that's nestled among tall trees.
In short... it looks great!
