Your best friend at school is Elizabeta Hedervary, another girl who is part of the mafia. She is a nice girl on the surface, but she is very well known for her frying pan fighting techniques in the underworld (with her nickname being “The Frying Pan Devil”), as well as for her death glare. “Hey, Elisa… Why are you staring at Edelstein?” Although you knew full well what Eliza is staring at him for, you also knew that her wish could never be granted.
Roderich Edelstein, an Austrian from a line of aristocrats, was wealthy and influential in your (country name). But the most important thing was: he despises the unlawful actions of the mafia and wants to eliminate them. “You should know why I’m staring at him. I really, really, like Roddy!” You sighed upon hearing Elisa’s reply. “Oh well. Anyway, I’m here to ask for your help. Can you come to the enemy’s base tonight with me?” You piqued Elisa’s interest with the question, but she dropped her head down on the table. “Can’t go tonight. I’m going to an enemy’s base tonight as well. What a shame.” You let out another sigh, and wondered how you made it throughout the years with all the missions.
“Hey Ludwig, can you come and help me tonight at an enemy’s base?” Ludwig turned around. “It’s not like you to ask me for help. Is it something big?” Ludwig looked worried as he replied you. You smiled. Ludwig was always worried about your safety. “Ludwig, it’s nothing much, I just have to get something. I just wanted back-up. But if you’re occupied, it’s fine. I can go alone.” Ludwig shook his head. “It’s fine, (name). When are we meeting?” You grinned in delight. Ludwig was always a great back-up; he is strong and well-trained. “Thanks. Come to my house at 9:00 tonight.”
“Ojousama, please be careful. I can’t help you this time.” Kiku looked at you with worrisome eyes. You merely chuckled in reply. “You doubt me, your master, Kiku?” Kiku became alarmed and said, “Boku- I mean, I know you’ll be fine, I’m just worried, ojousama.” You still grinned. “Oh well, it’s time to move out. Ja, mata ne Kiku! (See you!)” Jumping out of your opened window, you see Ludwig waiting for you outside the main gate. “Ludwig! Catch me!” You jumped from tree to tree after landing on one. Ludwig was flustered, and reached out his arms to catch you as you descended from the tree closest to the gate. “Danke! Now let’s go!”
Ludwig POV
How can (name) be so energetic? Not my business, but I still want to know anyway. “Bitte.” I replied with a monotone voice, and continued to walk on the road to the enemy’s household.”Luddy, you’re blushing.” (name) looked at me with sparkling eyes, but I refused to be entranced by them again. “Can you brief me on the mission?” I asked, finding a way to get rid of the blush apparent on my face and change the topic. “Let’s see, I am supposed to get an object, from an Austrian aristocrat… Wait. I forgot his name…” She trailed off, as I held my head in my hands. (name) is beautiful, I admit, but she’s a bit of an airhead… “ Hey, Luddy. Stop thinking that I’m an airhead.” And she reads minds too well…
Normal POV
After the discussion, you and Ludwig arrive at the targeted house, which you felt was grand and very… aristocratic like kind of house. “Well, this is it.” You stopped in front of the main gate. “Why are you required to do this mission anyway? Aren’t you already good enough?” Ludwig questioned you, but you shook your head. “Well, you could say that my parents have surprises that they don’t want to tell me, so I’m going to find out after retrieving the thing I have to retrieve.” Checking for security cameras, you nodded to Ludwig, who lowered his arms. You stepped onto his hands, and with a grunt, he threw you up onto the gate, which thankfully, did not have spikes. Standing up, you threw down the rope, and had Ludwig climb up. “Let’s go.” You whispered, jumping off the wall onto the ground along with Ludwig.
“(name)? This place… I feel like I’ve been here before.” Ludwig whispered, looking around the house, entering from the back door. You cocked your head in surprise. Who would have known that Ludwig had contacts in the Austrian aristocracy? “Well, try to remember.” You whispered back, and tip toed to the targeted room. Ludwig racked his head, and found the answer. “Scheisse! It’s Roderich’s house!” Ludwig swore silently. You turned around with a paperclip, trying to unlock the door. “Wait, Ludwig? Did you just say, Roderich?” The moment you said the word “Roderich”, the lights suddenly turned on.
Both you and Ludwig took up arms. You rushed up to the girl who turned on the lights, brandishing your knife, but she was fast. She also pulled out a frying pan to retaliate. Wait… a frying pan? “Elisa, is that you?” You spoke up, and the girl, who looked at you in surprise, turned out to be your best friend. “(name)! What are you doing here?” Eliza jumped in shock, and took a few deep breaths. “Who knew Eliza would be here, Ludwig?” You smiled turning around to see Ludwig completely taken aback by the revelation, and you became even more confused.
“Who’s there?” A new voice, deep but annoyed, entered the scene. A guy walked in, wearing a purple suit with a white shirt and cravat, matching his beautiful violet eyes. He walked in elegantly, and gasped at the sight of your classmate, Roderich. “Oh my, what are the two of you doing here?” You face palmed. “Ludwig. You knew that something was wrong at the beginning, didn’t you?” You glared at him, looking for answers. “Tell me the truth!” Ludwig merely sighed. Roderich stayed composed and said,“Well, let’s go to the living room. I cannot accept guests without stollen and tea.”
*********
“What?! So this is the job you were assigned to?” Eliza laughed, and your face burned with embarrassment. Ludwig and Roderich just sat there, drinking the tea. I’m having too many shocks today… Ludwig sighed again. “So, I never knew that all of you were related! I mean, I didn’t even know that Eliza was engaged to Roderich!” You exclaimed, as you never thought that you would spar with your best friend. “But Roderich, I thought you hated the Mafia!” You questioned him. “That is merely a facade, (name). If you don’t know, your parents are friends with mine; we are allies.” Then the whole scenario came together. “My parents! They tricked me!” You were astounded by the revelation (again), but the anger really starts to hit you.
“(name), I’m sorry.” Ludwig cupped his hands around the teacup. “I think it was my brother’s idea. He must have told your parents about the prank.” The mention of Gilbert seemed to anger Roderich and Eliza. “Why that little Prussian!” Eliza raised her frying pan. As if he heard Eliza, a certain albino came into the room. “You called?” The cocky sound of the Prussian angered you and Ludwig as well. “You want to die? Fine, Gilbert.” The dangerous tone in your voice leaked murderous intent, and Eliza grinned like the devil before a human soul. “Es tut mir leid! I’m sorry!” The sounds of a tortured Prussian rang throughout that house, that night.
Extra:
“Ludwig, you can stay at my house tonight. Leave Gilbert here with Eliza.” You stormed out with Ludwig, leaving behind a half mutilated Gilbert.
