Indeed! I remember muttering that quote when he got into the elevator, only to hear him saying it too. One of the most powerful moments I've seen in a video game. Made me cry and this just reminded me why I love the series. Thank you!

Nope, it was a clever reference. In fallout 3, you have to sacrifice yourself or a companion to go and restart a nuclear reactor, and it plays out exactly the same.
