Description Cards designed for my "Extinct and Endangered" ATC swap.

We have:
Giant Lemur; some sort of horned tortoise,
baiji (a recent extinction ) and the solitaire.

Just a very small selection of the beautiful creatures we have lost.

They have since officially declared the baiji as extinct.

I didn't hear about losing the baiji. When did that happen? Also, interesting you put a pen and pencil on the images.

I was aiming to do naturalist style sketches, hence the pens etc.

Tbh, I've nothing confirmed about the baiji - but the book I have - "A Gap in Nature" says there is only one left and he is in captivity, his mate having perished So technically extinct to all intents and purposes. Their story is so sad - eaten to extinction... The book was published some 3-4 years ago now and I haven't found anything more up-to-date since. It's a beautiful book, though VERY sad.
