Description
The majestic Peacurtle glides gracefully through the coral reef, eagerly hunting delicious small fishes and other prey. He can hold his breath for some time, with many dives lasting up to ten minutes. Despite his flamboyant appearance, his plumage is more like scales than feathers. Like cormorants, he lacks oil in his plumage, allowing him to dive deeper and submerge longer. After a successful dive, he will then float serenely on the surface, with his wing-flippers spread out, drying in the sun.Peacurtle is strange chimera for a swap over on Illustrated ATCs. He is 3.5 x 2.5 inches and uses fabercastell markers and polychromos pencils.

Interesting idea! I never would have imagined an underwater peacock, but it works really well. Nice colouring, especially on the tail "feathers" (tail scales, I guess!). I also really like the coral in the background.
