Speed painting, just for practicing. Made it in around 2-3 hours...I wanted to draw a pretty face, and that's what came out.
Painted in photoshop, finished in after effects. No references used, all made from mind.

yes, practicing... i was trying to figure out some anatomic characteristics from the face, which i was not very used to pay attention.

i forgot to add that i was awake for 2 days (had spent 2 nights working) when i painted it... i think if i were not super tired, this would not have turned out good as it did, lol

thanks! usually, it takes me a week... but that's because i'm lazy, lol
but in this one i wanted to make it fast, 'cause i have looooots of work to do and have no time...
about the hair... i paint the dark colors, then i paint the medium colors and speculars, all rough. then i made some brushes i use to give a better hair stroke looking. finally i add lots os thin strokes with a really thin brush and that's about it

Haha. Shucks. Isn't that the story of all of our lives after high school/college. But, seriously, I feel yeah.
It's the reason why I barely draw these past few years, well used too. I recently decided to start back up again, but it's tough though, it feels like I'm starting from square one. But that's not such a bad thing, it'll just allow me to build a better foundation.
Anyways, regarding your tips on painting the hair. I'll definitely follow it next time I do semi-realistic portrait or something.
